There are approximately seven million migrants and refugees living in Germany. And half a million lives without papers under precarious conditions. For over 100 000 people from Turkey granted German citizenship still live in uncertainty as the German authorities can withdraw passports at any time. Despite the verbally recognised reality of migration through multicultural consumerism the life of immigrants and refugees is determined through racism marginalisation and suspicion.

A dignified life is systematically refused because western civilisation needs its bogeyman images to blame for the bad state of social affairs, deficits in education, criminality, terrorism and so on. They are the first to be submitted to social degradation and the different forms of capitalist repression. Refugees have been living for twelve years under conditions worse than those of Hartz IV.

Since decades the following conditions belong to the life of refugees and immigrants in Germany:
  • Special laws (immigration law, laws concerning asylum seeker benefits…)
  • “Residenzpflicht”, district restrictions (binding the freedom of movement to one district)
  • Humiliation through food coupon systems and 40 Euro pocket money monthly.
  • Imprisonment in refugee centres and deportation prisons
  • Permanent threats of deportation (approximately 50 000 deportations per year)
  • Exclusion from political participation
  • Withdrawal of asylum status (which is approved to a diminishing number of people anyway)
  • Constantly uncertain residency status through short term permits
  • Divisions between useful and unuseful migrants and refugees
  • Imposition of German “leading culture” (“Leitkultur”) disguised as integration
  • Bodily harm and death through racist police and neo-Nazi attacks
We are tired of pointing out the unbearable situation which shows the continuation of colonialism. We don’t appeal to the conscience of the bourgeois democracy and their supporters. Those who cannot come to terms with this bad situation because of their conscience and political ideals will react. We want to make clear that we also have an inalienable right to a dignified life and for that we will fight always and everywhere.

It should be made known to European states and their societies: We are not profiting from this so called wellbeing, as often suggested in slander. The wealth of this country is based upon the exploitation of our countries. We are here because our countries are exploited and destroyed by western countries.

We appeal to migrants and refugees: We should no longer accept to be treated as second or third class citizens. We are the only ones capable of bringing this situation to an end, lest not be divided into good or bad migrants and refugees. Only with an internationalist attitude and solidarity will we be able to defy the rulers. We should not be silenced by random donations to individual groups. We will not be content until we can all say this.

Let’s organise in all walks of life and build networks between our groups! Let’s struggle for radical change in the present conditions!

Also in Berlin and Brandenburg hundreds of people are currently threatened with deportation. This means extradition to persecutory states which quite often leads to torture and death. The deportation of people familiarised to life here (often with family) leaves ruinous breaks in their lives. This deportation system which works regardless to the risk of life of those concerned is an alarming form of racist practice, which we have to struggle against.

Stop the humiliating life conditions in Germany, the racist special laws and deportations! Residency for everybody – now and immediately! Our agenda is: Fight for all rights!
